    We are seeking an experienced Business Control Manager to join our team in San Francisco. You will be tasked with the critical mission to ensure sufficient process controls are established in all business activities, with a focus on US operations. Program management activities will involve continuous stakeholder engagement both within Denizen and with our Banking Partners. You will develop and execute the ERM roadmap, manage KPI’s, design and implement scalable processes with a focus on continuous improvement, and provide critical inputs for process automation.

    • Develop initiatives to comply w/ Federal Reserve Bank (FRB), European Central Bank (ECB), & Banco de Espana regulations & internal risk models.
    • Create, implement and oversee holistic risk-based governance frameworks, business controls priorities and strategy.
    • Responsibility for stakeholder engagement, assessment of ongoing business needs and building short-term and long-term roadmap to support business needs.
    • Develop and document standard processes and reporting tooling needs to support risk program requirements.
    • Ensure business first line of defense supervisory management and risk controls execution.
    • Identify, measure and manage risks within products and internal processes - specifically operational, IT and other data & information security type risks including cybersecurity.
    • Lead proactive risk management exercises or programs.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 6 years of financial services experience with at least 4 years in direct risk or ERM implementing First and/or Second line of defense Technology & Operations models, corporate policies & internal controls from organizational, management, control & reporting point of view.
    • Strong working knowledge of BSA and AML best practices.
    • Maintain open communication lines and foster positive relationship with BBVA control and compliance partners.
    • Ability to work in a highly visible and fast-paced environment, where business needs/priorities may change and path forward is not always black/white.
    • Experience designing end-to-end processes that scale, particularly with respect to Operations and Quality Assurance.
    • Capable of analyzing complex problem in order to provide strategic and tactical solutions.
    • Operates with a sense of urgency and has a strong attention to detail.

     

    Bonus Points

    • Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Risk or a related field.
    • CRISC, CERM, CISSP, ACAMS or other certifications in risk management or compliance.
    • Proficiency in in written and spoken spanish.
