Responsibilities

Structure

The Area Mortgage Sales Manager reports to the National Mortgage Sales Manager and is responsible for maximizing mortgage lending production in the assigned area.  Primary sales focus should be on the establishment of new customers for the bank and cross-sell.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Effective management of Mortgage Banking Officers (MBOs) and Sales Assistants (SAs) while maximizing mortgage and home equity volume, MBO production, and business development efforts.
  • Sales Management: Develop proactive sales plans to maximize the growth and retention of all real estate product and service customers. Manage sales processes and procedures for the MBO while ensuring an exceptional customer experience is provided to all existing and potential customers.  Implement any and all policy changes in the assigned area.
  • Management of Human Resources: Analyze and recommend resources and staffing changes, evaluate and assess direct reports, and promote initiatives to support the professional development of the team. 
  • Recruiting: Identify qualified MBO candidates and maintain a recruitment pipeline to minimize extended sales position vacancies.
  • Training: Responsible for continuing education of MBOs and rolling out Real Estate Secured Lending initiatives.
  • Cross-sell Management: Manage the capabilities of the MBOs and sales systems to ensure maximum cross-sell efforts are in place in a continued effort to create complete customer relationships.
  • Partner Relations: Establish collaborative partnerships with other lines of business, including Retail, Wealth, and Commercial.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of mortgage banking markets, products, pricing, laws and regulations, practices, competitors, technology and current industry issues.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate bank policies and regulatory guidelines, including Fair Lending and Community Reinvestment Act objectives.
