The Policy & Procedures Spcialist role is to assist improving and documenting existing processes and systems while seeking opportunities to develop and implement new processes and systems to both support and achieve organizational goals, within Corporate and Investment Banking division for BBVA in the US.


Working as a member of the Business Process Engineering team, the analyst will work closely with business stakeholders identifying opportunities to improve process efficiencies and overall operational effectiveness of workforce. The analyst must be a self-starter, an advocate of change, possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be willing to act as a liaison across all functional teams.




Strategy & Planning

  • Assist in engaging all business units to understand existing and future business goals  guidance for process improvement initiatives
  • Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes
  • Analyze process, data and work instructions to prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes
  • Develop business strategies for implementing changes of existing or new to processes


Systems  and Process Deployment & Implementation

  • Assist in conducting research of systems to cover new or existing products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing and implementation efforts
  • Assist in developing internal and external Business Requirements (C100- RFPs)  for vendor and systems implementations
  • Collaborate in the planning, design, development, testing and deployment of new or existing systems
  • Assist to document business process models, specifications, diagrams, and flow charts to provide direction to system programmers
  • Assist in developing written work streams, policies, procedures,  user training guides and work / job aids


Change & Project Management

  • Assist in developing, standardizing, and maintaining new or improved processes based on findings and analysis
  • Assist to coordinate and perform in-depth interviews, meetings and work-shops for current and future state processes improvements
  • Assist in evaluating information gathered from multiple sources for improvement recommendations
  • Assist and facilitate  communications on process changes, enhancements, and modifications to all stakeholders to ensure issues and solutions are agreed to and understood by all impacted business units
  • Liaise with various business groups in the organization to facilitate implementation of new or improved business processes
  • Assist in the development of  post implementation guidance and training materials to ensure improved or new process are followed
  • Successfully engage in multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously
  • Introduce and foster a culture of change


Education and Experience Requirements

  • BS or Masters in Business/Finance, Industrial Engineering
  • A strong analytical and background is preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in process re-engineering or banking
  • Knowledge and experience with new product development, sales and marketing  project management and/or engineering is preferred
  • Banking experience highly desirable
  • Spanish as a second language is highly desirable
  • Compliance, Regulatory or consultancy knowledge on CFTC, FINRA, SEC regulations is highly desired.
  • Professional work ethics.
  • Self-motivation skills; ability to work independently, team player.
  • Computer skills: advanced Excel, PowerPoint presentations, Word, Acrobat, Visio, ARIS.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, listening, and written presentation skills).
  • Ability to build consensus and work in a team environment.
