Responsibilities

The Community Development Commercial Relationship Associate (CD-CRA) will report to the Director of Community Development Capital and will support three Regional Community Development Relationship Managers.  Candidate will primarily handle preliminary credit screening for both debt and equity transactions and the preparation of quarterly investment portfolio performance reports.  Candidate will be expected to possess and/or develop Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and Community Development subject matter expertise.

 

MAJOR DUTIES

  1. Gathers project related information and prepares the Pre Screen Memos.
  2. Completes the pricing/profitability model for loans and completes analysis of the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) calculation for investments.
  3. Gathers and processes data for the quarterly portfolio and annual LIHTC Syndicator Reviews.
  4. Updates and maintains the accuracy of pipeline reports.

 

GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES

  1. Client/prospect calling on key accounts.
  2. Maintain industry-specific COI relationships.
  3. High level review of pricing/structure on specific transactions, especially front-end guidance.
  4. Sponsor key transactions in credit screen discussions.
  5. Represent the bank at regional industry conferences.
  6. Serve as an internal subject matter expert for LIHTC and Community Development transactions.
  7. Keep bank apprised of industry market trends, emerging risks, opportunities.

Qualifications

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Four year college degree or equivalent.
  2. Experience in the financial industry or related field. The ideal candidate will have prior experience underwriting LIHTC transactions at a peer financial institution or a LIHTC Syndicator.
  3. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  4. Strong familiarity with PC applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
  5. Must be able to work independently as well as with others, handle many assignments simultaneously, and proactively seek information from multiple internal and external sources.
  6. 1-2 years experience.- Grade 16 and 3-5 years experience - Grade 18
