What will you be doing?

The Director of Application Security Engineering is responsible will be 50% hands on and the rest of the time spent leading a small team, collaborating with application development groups, and interfacing with technology leadership.

 

This position will make use of a senior-level application security knowledge to provide secure development, deployment, integration, use, and maintenance of web applications, services, and systems.

Candidate is to have a strong background in software and application development with an interest in further developing security code practices at our company.

This is a leadership position that requires someone with 10+ years of information security, at least 5 years of specific application security, and proven certifications, education, professional association involvement, and professional networks that show a senior expert in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes information security systems and applications and recommends and develops security measures to protect information against unauthorized modification or loss.
  • Partner with Corporate and Enterprise Application Development to implement application security initiatives including Secure Code Practices.
  • Lead the team that provides technical guidance to developers on discovering and remediating software coding security vulnerabilities.
  • Insure strong progress through “embedded with the team” work with app managers through proscribed secure coding deliverables.
  • Analyze and provide management reporting on vulnerability detection, remediation and compliance trending.
  • Partner with architects and application development teams in secure software design.
  • Provide measurements and KPI reports that indicate direction of effectiveness and efficiency against goals.
  • Support communication efforts with application teams.
  • Apply knowledge of information security and application development industry trends and technology to drive organizational change and position to properly manage and remediate vulnerabilities.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related discipline (e.g. Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, CIS, MIS, Software Engineering).
  • Management experience is required.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Experience working as part of a cross functional team.
  • Experience presenting recommendations to senior management and executive directors.
  • Strong organizational, research, analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate situations, make recommendations and take effective action.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual, English and Spanish.
  • Industry recognized professional Security certification preferred (CISSP, CIPP/IT, CRISC).
